★★★★★My family and I had a wonderful experience exploring Tokyo for the first time with our guide Taka. Even before we arrived in Tokyo, Taka was incredibly responsive and structured a suggested itinerary around our family interests. We had a full day tour and covered a lot of ground but at a pace that never felt rushed and time with stops for lunch and lots of snacks along the way. We started the day with pick-up from our hotel in Shinjuku. It was also really helpful for Taka to guide us on our first metro ride and to help us navigate the rules and orient us at such a mega sized subway station. From Meiji shrine and Takeshita Street to lunch at the Tsukiji fish market and lots of stops in between before ending in Asakusa; it was a great overview of Tokyo for our day 1. An added treat was an amazingJapanese BBQ dinner we had at Taka’s family’s restaurant—Ueda—few days later. Delicious waygu beef for the grill and kimchi side accompaniment. Real neighborhood restaurant feel and a popular spot for local sumo wrestlers. Highly recommend and they have an English menu. From the moment we met, he was warm, friendly, and genuinely committed to making our experience memorable. His knowledge of Tokyo, Japanese history, culture, and area knowledge was exceptional. His English was excellent, making communication effortless and allowing us to gain a much deeper appreciation for the places we visited. What impressed us most was his ability to tailor the tour to our individual interests and preferences. He listened carefully to what we wanted to see and experience, adjusted the itinerary accordingly, and consistently went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible day. What truly sets Taka apart, however, is that his support did not end when the tour was over. Throughout the remainder of our stay in Tokyo, he continued to communicate with us, answer questions, and provide outstanding recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and local experiences. It felt as though we had our own personal concierge in Tokyo, and his advice greatly enhanced our trip. We even visited his family’s excellent restaurant two days after the tour where we had the pleasure to meet his father and brother, making the experience even more special and personal. Taka’s professionalism, flexibility, kindness, and enthusiasm made a lasting impression on us. By the end of our trip, we felt we had gained far more than a tour guide, we felt we had made a great friend in Tokyo.
