Tokyo Signature Tours offers private, customized walking tours in Tokyo with an English-speaking bilingual local guide. Only your group and your guide take part. The route, stops and pace are planned around your interests rather than a fixed group itinerary.

Yes. We plan around your interests, pace, hotel location, food preferences and must-see places. Your route can include landmarks, temples, markets, art, shopping and quieter local neighborhoods. Share your preferences before the tour so your guide can plan a practical route and keep it flexible on the day.

Choose 4 hours for a shorter introduction, 6 hours for neighborhoods with food and culture, or 8 hours for a full day combining iconic sights and local areas. The best choice depends on your interests, walking pace and existing reservations. Compare the tour options and group prices.

Prices are estimated totals for your entire private group in US dollars (USD). For one guest, a 4-hour tour is USD 269, a 6-hour tour is USD 399 and an 8-hour tour is USD 499. For two guests, the group totals are USD 349, USD 499 and USD 599 respectively. A per-person estimate is the group total divided by the number of guests. The Tokyo Signature Tours guiding fee includes a private bilingual local guide, pre-tour consultation and itinerary planning, language support, local navigation and flexible pacing. A central Tokyo hotel-lobby meeting is available in most cases, or we agree on another convenient meeting point in advance.

Meals, drinks, transportation fares and admission tickets are not included in the guiding fee. Guests pay these costs separately, including meals during the 6-hour Food Tour and public transport or taxi fares when used. Gratuities are optional. Your guide can discuss likely stops and transport needs while planning your route.

Choose your preferred duration and group size, then contact us by WhatsApp or email with your date, hotel and interests. We confirm your date, group size and guide availability, and send a secure payment link when you are ready to book. After booking confirmation, we introduce your guide to finalize the itinerary together. An inquiry does not confirm a booking, and no payment is required to inquire.

After booking confirmation, Tokyo Signature Tours introduces your guide so you can communicate directly and finalize your personalized itinerary before the tour. Share your interests, desired pace and existing reservations during your inquiry; the guide then helps refine the route and practical details with you.

We recommend booking 2–4 weeks ahead, especially during cherry blossom season, autumn and holidays. This gives us time to check guide availability and plan your itinerary. For a closer date, contact us to ask about availability; a particular date or guide is not guaranteed until confirmed.

Yes, a meeting in your central Tokyo hotel lobby is available in most cases. We confirm the location before your tour. Depending on your hotel and route, we may suggest a convenient station or landmark instead. A hotel meeting does not include a private vehicle transfer.

The guiding fee does not include a private car or driver. Most Tokyo Signature Tours itineraries combine walking and public transport, with local taxis when useful. Your guide helps with the route, stations and navigation. Transport fares are paid separately by guests. Share mobility needs and transport preferences before booking so we can discuss a suitable route.

Yes. A private tour can introduce first-time visitors to Tokyo landmarks and neighborhoods while providing practical help with transport, local customs, etiquette and food. Your guide can also suggest places to explore during the rest of your stay. Tell us what you have already planned so the tour fits your wider trip.

Yes. We can plan family-friendly stops, breaks and a pace suited to your group. Unless specified otherwise, ages 0–1 are free and not counted as participants; ages 6 and above are treated as adults and counted as participants. For ages 2–5, whether and how they are counted and whether any fee applies are decided case by case, taking account of the itinerary, mobility needs and third-party conditions, then disclosed for your agreement. Ages are measured on the tour date.

Include each child’s age and date of birth when booking, and tell us about stroller use in advance. Some routes have stairs, steps or crowds and may not be suitable for strollers. We confirm your guest count and final price; see Article 8 of our Terms of Use for the full child policy.

Tours typically involve approximately 3–10 kilometers of walking, climbing and descending stairs, and time in crowded areas. The actual walking distance depends on your route. For seniors or anyone who prefers a slower pace, we can discuss shorter walking distances, more breaks and transport options before booking.

Tell us about mobility limitations, wheelchair or stroller use in advance so we can assess your particular itinerary. Terrain, stairs, steps and crowds make some routes unsuitable for wheelchairs or strollers. If you do not notify us in advance about wheelchair or stroller use and the route must be changed or shortened on the day as a result, no refund is provided under Article 5 of our Terms of Use.

Yes. The 6-hour Extended Private Tokyo Food & Culture Tour (6h) can combine neighborhoods and food stops such as market snacks, ramen, sushi, izakaya or local restaurants, depending on your preferences and the route. Meals and drinks are paid separately by guests and are not included in the guiding fee.

Please tell us about dietary preferences, allergies and restrictions before booking. We can discuss suitable food stops and help communicate your needs, but restaurant ingredients, preparation practices and availability vary. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free meal or that every dietary request can be accommodated. Confirm specific requirements with us before deciding on a food-focused itinerary.

Yes, when the schedule and locations allow. Share the date, time and location of any teamLab, SHIBUYA SKY, museum, restaurant or other reservations. Your guide can plan the tour around them. Admission tickets and meals are separate costs; availability at a particular attraction is not guaranteed by booking the guiding service.

The start time is flexible and decided together according to your schedule, preferences and guide availability. Opening hours, travel time and any timed reservations also affect the route. Tell us your preferred start time and finish location when you inquire so we can confirm what works.

Private day trips from Tokyo to Hakone, Kamakura, Nikko or Mt. Fuji may be available by request. Contact Tokyo Signature Tours to discuss timing, transportation, guide availability, a suitable route and the final price. These trips require individual planning; transportation is not included in the guiding fee.

Tours generally operate in light rain, and the route may be adjusted. If severe weather or other conditions raise safety concerns, Tokyo Signature Tours may modify or cancel the tour according to the Terms of Use. Contact us if you have concerns about the forecast for your tour date.

For customer-initiated cancellations, deadlines are measured from the scheduled tour start time in Japan Standard Time (JST).

At least 72 hours before the start: 100% refund of the tour fee.
More than 24 hours but less than 72 hours before the start: 50% refund of the tour fee.
Within 24 hours of the start, late arrival or no-show: no refund.

Payment processing fees, foreign exchange losses or other related costs may be deducted from refunds. Refunds are processed within 14 business days after we determine that a refund is due; your card issuer may take approximately 3–30 further days to show it.

Contact us promptly about changes to your date, time, group size or meeting point. Changes depend on availability and may incur price differences, cancellation fees or other costs. Read Articles 10–14 of our Terms of Use before payment for the full refund, change and weather-related policies.

Tips are optional and never expected. A gratuity is welcome if you would like to thank your guide for an exceptional experience, but it is not a required part of the Tokyo Signature Tours price.
